From the time of the 19th Dynasty, probably within the reign of Ramesses II (1279-1213BC). Henutmehyt was accompanied by 40 shabti figures, which she could call upon to carry out manual work in the afterlife. These wood or pottery figures, some with magical spells to activate the figures, were placed in four painted wooden boxes, the shape of two shrines joined together.
