Painted wooden coffin of Tphous, Roman period, reign of Hadrian AD 127 from Thebes. The painted top shows a series of deities and includes scenes of the adoration of Osiris. On the side jackals tow the barque of the sun-god, at each end are further solar images, the winged sun-disc and the scarab beetle. A Greek inscription at the foot states she was the daughter of Herakeios. She was born in the fifth year of Hadrian and died aged 6 years and 2 months. She was buried 10 months later on the anniversary of her birth. Picture taken at the British Museum January 2007.
