One of the most common flowers of short grassland. The daisy has a yellow disc surrounded by white petals. The stem is hairy and the leaves spoon shaped. The flowers open in the morning and close at night and in dull weather. Its Latin name means beautiful and although regarded as a weed, it has been written about by everyone from Shelley to Chaucer. It flowers mainly from May to September. This plant was pictured at Bedford Feb 25th 2018.
