The City of London is now Europe's largest CBD and financial district. It is often referred to as just the City or as the Square Mile, as it is approximately one square mile. It is bordered by the City of Westminster in the West and the London boroughs of Camden, Islington, Hackney along with Tower Hamlets in the East. The City of London has a resident population of under 9,000 but a daily working population of around 311,000. Since 1991 Canary Wharf a few miles east of the City Boundary within Tower Hamlets has become a second centre for London's financial services. The City of London is England's smallest ceremonial county by both population and area. Also pictured the famous baroque cathedral designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1673. Left of St Paul's is the Faraday Building. Picture taken 31st July 2007.
