From a Christian cemetery dating to AD340 in what is now Burt Road Colchester, a grave chamber made of timber held the bodies of two people. They appeared to be a wealthy husband and wife. Their bones showed that the man had a serious head injury but recovered; the woman was about 5 feet 3 inches tall. Picture taken at Colchester Castle Museum June 2007.
