The Longships Lighthouse

Longships lighthouse was first established in 1791 and was taken over by Trinity House in 1795. At that time the lighthouse was manned by four men who were paid £30 per year.
The present tower was built in 1875 and was automated in 1988 and is now operated from the control centre at Harwich.
