This picture shows the 'header' with it rotating reel. The reel folds the crop into the cutter and it can be adjusted or different heights of crop. As well as wheat and barley the combine harvester has to be adaptable to harvest a whole variety of different seed sizes, -from oilseed rape which is very small in contrast to crops like field beans. There are many variables that can be adjusted by the driver to ensure that the end crop is clean and free from the contamination of other seeds and straw.
