The Eden Project has become known throughout the world since it opened in May 2000. In its first six years around seven million people visited the attraction. It lies just a few miles from the Cornish town of St Austell.
Eden is all about man's relationship with and dependence upon plants.
It consists of two huge Biomes - the the Tropical Biome and the Temperate Biome. As well as these two 'worlds' the surrounding area makes up the third zone - the Outdoor Biome. The Eden project contains more than 1,000,000 plants representing 5,000 species from many of the climatic zones of the world.
