Gas mask which was designed to be worn by babies.

The baby was fastened in and the parents had to keep pumping the hose on the right hand side to pump air in. If they stopped pumping the air, the baby would die from lack of oxygen. It must have been very scary for babies to have been sealed up in this mask for long periods of time, whilst families waited for the air raid siren to signal the all clear.
