Cambridge Folk Festival takes place every year over the final weekend in July, starting on the Thursday evening and ending late on Sunday night. It is regarded around the world as the premier festival for the folk, country and world music scene and attracts performers from all the world. Around 18,000 people attend the festival at Cherry Hinton each year and hundreds of thousands more listen to the live broadcasts on BBC Radio.
