These shoes were designed by Terry de Havilland in London in the early 1970's. They have plastic soles with dyed snakeskin and clear plastic uppers with diamante buckles. Bold, colourful platform shoes were the height of fashion during the 1970's. Even the natural snakeskin material has been dyed in unnatural colours. Picture taken at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
