Grant of the manor of Canons in Norton, Stow Maries and Purleigh (all in Essex) to Arthur Herrys. Beautifully written using a quill, it is a Royal grant and so depicts of image of the Queen in the captial 'E' of Elizabeth. Some of these charters were hand coloured in gold, red, blue and other bright colours.
