Dress (bodice and skirt) about 1894 by Stern brother New York, West 23rd Street department store. This shop was famous for copying couture gowns designed in Paris , made in high quality materials such as silk velvet with net embroidered breads and sequins. The dress was worn by Anne Rodgers, daughter if a wealthy industrialist. The dress can be seen at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
