Soft colour and floral prints were popular int he early Victorian period. Here pink red and white flowers harmonise with the soft brown printed cotton and green silk and satin piping. The dress is lined with linen and cotton. The sleeves loose at the bottom emphasise the slope of the shoulders and tightness of the waist. The dress can be seen at the Victorian and Albert Museum.
