The design for this cabinet was based on the painted armories that Burgess had seen in French Cathedrals/ The design adapts several Medieval features, - the sloping roof and double folding doors. It is painted with scenes from classical and Medieval history (representing literature and printing). The wash stand can be seen at the Victorian and Albert Museum, London.
