The clock was designed by Scottish born Bruce James Talbert, a 19th century designer who worked in several styles. This clock is int he Gothic revival style and takes the form of a small building. The material used are painted wood with wrought and painted ironwork and painted brass. It was made by Skidmore's Art Manufactures, Coventry. The wash stand can be seen at the Victorian and Albert Museum, London.
