This cabinet used Classical literature as an inspiration for its decoration and design. The centre top of the cabinet has a peacock the symbol of the Goddess Juno. Her story is told on the cabinet. The black, white and terracotta colour scheme was based on classical vases. The cabinet is made of ebony inlaid with boxwood, myrtle, mother of pearl and ivory. The cabinet can be seen in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
