The red shoe dates from 1670-1680. It is leather trimmed with silk braid and wooden heels with reproduction ribbons. The white slipper 1660-1680 is made of leather with silk embroidery, silver thread and a wooden heel. The green shoe dates from about 1710. It has a leather sole, covered wooden heel and is satin trimmed with a silk braid. At the time the red shoe was made, all shoes were straights i.e. not made for the left or right foot. After 1660, French styles were popular with a long pointed toe like the green shoe.
