Ramsons can carpet a deciduous woodland and are usually found alongside celandines and bluebells. It is a bulbous plant that has white flowers loosely held on a flower head. It can grow up to 45cm and flowers from April to August. The chopped and cooked leaves have been used to flavour dishes and sauces but the plant is felt to be inferior to cultivated garlic.
