A herb with runners 30-90cm tall. It has branched stems, oblong hairy clasping grey/green leaves and clustered white flowers 5-6mm in dense racemes. It is native to Southern Europe and was introduced to Britain around 1809. It is now common in SE England, on arable and waysides.
