These ceramic tiles once decorated the top of a small temple in north China. A few of the tiles are missing, but they were originally arranged in two long rows, one being the yellow dragon and one the blue dragon. Dragons in China are associated with good fortune, rain and water. It is thought they were placed there to protect the temple from fire.
