They can be found from southern Spain across Africa tot he Middle East and Central Asia in desert locations. The Desert Locust has contributed to famine have in Africa, the Middle East and Asia for centuries. They can rapidly strip all plant food in an area because of the ability of swarms to fly rapidly across great distances. It has two to five generations per year.
