What is missing?
A tourist map made in 1949. Local historical events are shown at specific places: Fobbing, where the Peasants’ Revolt started in the 14th century; Vange, where Dutch engineers drained the marshes making them usable for agriculture, and were given land as payment; East Horndon where the head of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s second wife, is said to be buried; and Great Burstead, where the Zeppelin was shot down. Basildon is an empty space on the map; what would be written there now?
Activity
Design a round picture to go on the space for Basildon, and write the text that would go next to it.
