Wheeled shepherd's hut c.18th century

Wheeled hut's like this were home at lambing time for the traditional Downland shepherds, (methods remained the same throught many centuries). The fold was made of hazel from nearby woodland. Iron ties were made by local blacksmiths and used to hold together the chestnut hurdles around the meadow.
