Lots of children around the world receive presents from Santa, Father Christmas or a similar figure. In Germany he is known as Christkind, in Spain the Wise Men give the presents and in some other countries it is an old lady, -Befana or Babushka. The presents are left in stockings, shoes or other similar items left out by children. Most children receive their presents on Christmas Eve night or early Christmas morning, but in some countries they get their presents on St. Nicholas Day, December 6th or on the eve or morning of January 6th. On this day many countires celebrate the coming of the Magi or Wise Men bearing gifts to Jesus. It is known as Epiphany.
