This buttercup was growing near a hedgerow. I did not have time to examine the plant & leaves, so I am not sure of the species. Buttercups have bright yellow flowers and divided leaves and are common. They mainly flower from May to September. At one time it was believed the ground up roots could cure plague and the flowers hung around the neck could cure madness. Picture taken 15th May at Felmersham, Bedfordshire.
