Jointed Rush coming into flower. The stalked flower heads each contin four to eight flowers. Each flower has three petals, three sepals and six stamens. This rush forms tufts of deep green stems with curved flatteded leaves. The brahcnes bearing the flowers diverge at acute angles from the stem. The green sheaths of the leaves have thin papery edges. the fruit is an oval capsule. Picture taken on 24th June 2006 at Stevington, Bedfordshire.
