This plant is dying off but you can still see the smooth leaves and long narrow pod at the centre of the plant. Like all poppies, the flower is short lived. It can be found frequently on agricultural land and flowers mainly from June to July. Picture taken at Elstow, Bedfordshire 20th August 2006.
