The Conduit in Chelmsford's High Street marked where water from a medieval well sprang up. It was removed in April 1940 as the structure was deemed to be a danger and an obstacle to traffic at the junction where it stood. Traffic lights were installed instead. The Conduit was re-erected in Tower Gardens.

Can you spot the Shire Hall at the end of the High Street?
What shop is now where Boots was?
Why are there so many bicycles and not many cars?
Why do you think there is scaffolding around the Conduit?
