This Register of Prisoners in the County Gaol. This gives the name, place of birth, last residence, age, height, complexion, colour of hair and eyes, and remarks about the prisoners including whether they can read or write and their general behaviour. It tells us by whom they were committed and for what offence, the sentence they were given and when and how they were discharged. It covers the period 1837 to 1849.
