These mummy cases show that several different techniques for construction existed at the same time. The majority are hollow shells built using a variety of materials from mud, linen, plaster; including discarded documents that sometimes still have traces of writing on them. This was common in this period. The plaster was applied to the outside and sometimes inside. Picture taken at the British Museum January 2007.
