The church of St Edward the Confessor stands in the heart of the busy town of Romford, surrounded by its shops, houses, pubs, businesses and Romford's famous market. There has been a church here since 1410 serving what was an Essex market town. The parish is in the Church of England Chelmsford Diocese.
