The design of the state coach was meant to reflect Britain trading power under King George III. The designer, William Chambers, used elements of the latest neoclassical design ornament, including laurel garlands and figures of Titan's. The coach was first used in 1762 and is still used for state occasions. The model is in guilded and painted wood, metal and leather and textile upholstery.
