This plant has been common in Britain since wood clearance began in the stone age. It can survive heavy grazing as most of the regrowth comes from the bottom of the plant. Each flower has four white sepals and brownish petals. The flowers are clustered together into a flower head. The thin leaves narrow into a long stalk. The leaves grow from the base of the plant a form an upright rosette, each leaf is strongly ribbed. The plant flowers April to August. Picture taken 2nd May 2008.
