Farming was developed more than 10,000 years ago. It appears to have first developed along fertile areas of the Tigris and Euphrates and also along the Nile and parts of India. 
Independently of this, farming also developed in China, the Sahel in Africa, New Guinea and some areas of the Americas.

Farming was developed more than 10,000 years ago. It appears to have first developed along fertile areas of the Tigris and Euphrates and also along the Nile and parts of India.
Independently of this, farming also developed in China, the Sahel in Africa, New Guinea and some areas of the Americas.
It is likely that climate change produced an abundance of storable wild grains and pulses in some areas, which enabled hunter-gatherers to form the first settled villages.
