To the Celts and many other peoples of the old world, certain trees held special significance. Besides being used for fuel, and to build or make weapons, they were also thought to have a powerful spiritual presence. These trees included the oak, Ash, Rowan, Willow, Yew, Hawthorn, Holly, Blackthorn, Hazel and Juniper.
