Between Durdle Door and Lulworth runs one of the most well used public footpaths in England. It is not excessively steep and the original chalk path has now been paved with limestone sets (it has been subject to serious erosion by feet and this paving has only taken place recently.

The effects of Human erosion can be clearly seen in different areas along this route and regular maintenance such as the temporary closing of foot path is necessary to maintain the landscape

There the vegetation is warn away the chalk and clays are exposed which can then wash easily away
