Macbeth first perfor...
Plays and theatre were still popular. The earliest account of a performance of Macbeth play is April 1611, when Simon Forman recorded seeing it at the Globe Theatre. It was though to be written early in the Stuart period to celebrate King James's ancestors and the Stuart accession to the throne.

Inside the Globe The...
The Globe Theatre was a popular venue in this period. It was originally built in 1599 and was the headquarters of a band of players for whom William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616) wrote. A reconstructed building was completed in 1997. For further picture of the globe see the Tudor period.
