of sedimentary rock. Hard limestone ridges, folded chalk hills, stone storm beaches and areas of soft clays have allowed the sea to both erode and deposit material all along the coast. Classical and spectacular coastal features such as Lulworth Cove, Chesil beach and Poole Harbour are included within this section.
