nettle stings. It was also used to dress burns and scolds in former times. It has deep roots and can be difficult to remove from gardens and fields. It was long narrow leaves curled up at the edges. The inner sepals are without teeth and there is usually a wart on all three sepals. Pictured near Stagsden, Bedfordshire - early September 2005.
