Continued from above
again August to October but without petals. The flowers are blue-violet with strong purple veins on the lower petals. The flowers arise round a central leaf rosette. The leaves are long stalked with 2 narrow stipules with wavy fringes at the stalk base. It is common in woods, hedges and banks and likes shade. Pictured near Stevington, Bedfordshire - 28th March 2006.
