The Anglos and Saxon were two of the groups of warrior farmers who crossed the North Sea into Britain from around 400AD onwards. They set up farms and small villages like this one that has been reconstructed at West Stow in Suffolk. The village was built on a low hill by the river Lark. Picture taken at West Stow Anglo-Saxon settlement and Museum August 2006.
