After excavation of a ship burial at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk, the finds were studied and dated. Broken and crushed fragments were reassembled. One of the reassembled items was a helmet. It was decorated with figures similar to those found in Sweden and Germany. The rich grave was thought to be an Anglo-Saxon King, - possibly king Raedwald.
