For thirty years this sculpture stood in the plaza at the World Trade Centre. 'The Sphere' was created by Franz Koenig as a symbol of world peace. It was damaged on September 11, 2001 but survived enough to be moved to Battery Park in 2002 as a memorial to all who lost their lives.
