Bulbous Buttercup (Ranunculus bulbosus)  - An upright hairy perrenial 15-40cm tall. It has a basal tuber (no runners) A deeply grooved flower stalk and reflexed (bent back) sepals. It has bright yellow flowers and is very common on dry grassland especially chalk. It flowers April to June. Picture taken May 18th at Hinxworth, Hertfordshire.
