This tree reaches a height of 30-40 metres. It produces yellowy-brown flowers in May, male flowers on pendants and female flowers on short stalks. The acorn fruits develop late summer / early autumn. It can live for up to 800 years. Picture near Stagsden Bedfordshire September 2005.
