Stinking Iris (Iris foetidissima) - "stinking" refers to the smell given off when the leaves are crushed, which has been likened to roast beef! It grows in open woods, scrub, shady places, on hedgebanks, sea-cliff scrub and in dunes. The seeds are a spectacular orange/red.
