A common plant with white hooded flowers that grows in hedgerows and wastelands. The plant relies on Bumble Bees for pollination and the flower shape is suited to this. It is called a dead nettle as it lacks stinging hairs. It has a long flowering period from May to December.
This plant was still flowering late January at Stagsden, Bedfordshire 2006.
