This is the breeding bull on the farm, -Ulysses. He is guarding the calves at the moment, which is unusual as the usually stay with the females. Ulysses is a Red Poll by breed. He he is not too comfortable with somebody entering the field. Bulls are always unpredictable animals and great care needs to be taken when around them. A mature Red Poll cow averages 520 kg and an adult bull around 1000kg. Picture taken at Oak Farm, April 2007.
