St Bride's Church, Fleet Street, London - the printer's church. The church of St Bride has stood on this piece of land for over 1500 years. It is named in honour of St Bridget of Kildare, Ireland. King John held a parliament at this church in 1210.
In the late 17th century a local baker, looking for a way to make wedding cakes more interesting used the tower as the basis for the world's first tiered wedding cake, a tradition which has continued ever since. The fact that the church which lent its structure to the wedding cake is called St Bride's is mere coincidence.
